Archives For October 2010

>As most of you know, teaching classes from a Personal Trainer / Fitness Coach perspective has been a passion I’ve discovered since I started working for myself full-time as a freelancer.

Many times, I’ve even said that no matter how wealthy I get, I’ll most likely continue to teach and train people.

Picture me driving my Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe with my training equipment in the trunk, driving off to your home or an outdoor park … :P

Anyway, because of said passion for my hybrid capability of teaching-training, I came up with these informational postcards for students that come to my classes, whether it’s Indoor Cycling or some Conditioning-based class, including Kettlebells.

I know these will be useful for you, whether it’s in my class or anyone else’s. The tips are meant to make YOU successful in your quest for improved fitness, that’s the only reason I wrote them. Your success is what makes me feel successful!

Enjoy this one for INDOOR CYCLING:

And this one for CONDITIONING (as in CardioSculpt, KettleBells, anything we do in the main studio)

I’m also working on easily posting PICTURES and VIDEO of easy-to-follow technique corrections, the tough part is in getting the photos or footage taken. We’re working on it  :)

>The last few weeks, I’ve been busy with self-improvement projects on my class programming and overall coaching. Hopefully, you’ve seen/felt some of the changes we’ve made. Either the classes have felt:

* more challenging
* more specific in goals and program design
* fine-tuned toward improving your technique, etc

I’ve said it many times to friends and colleagues: I much prefer making a high-quality impact and difference in your workouts, than just making you sweat. Anyone can make you burn calories and work out hard.

My greater goal is to give you workouts that counter-balance most of your typical movement patterns and postural challenges, along with allowing you to improve on technique where you may need it most. This is a tough call in a roomful of people, but thankfully, we have made some significant gains.

This isn’t to say that the workouts aren’t as tough as the others — far from it. Part of the added challenge is in doing the already-tough program at this higher level of capability and knowledge about what you can do to make it individually-appropriate to you.

So, we’ll have more updates this week on fitness topics, both in 1-on-1 training and group fitness.

Thanks for being part of m self-development — without you, this choice of career path would be fruitless.

xoxo
